Redesigned Exhibit Makes a Splash at aMuse’um

aMuse’um Children’s Museum and Columbia Power and Water Systems are thrilled to announce the newly redesigned Duck River and Playhouse Exhibit, which has been updated through ongoing partnership with CPWS and the collaborative efforts of local individuals who generously donated their time and talents to bring the Duck River to aMuse’um.

This exhibit has always been a favorite among guests focusing on important learning skills such as fine motor development, balance and control, creativity, problem-solving, and interactive group play. In particular, aMuse’um encourages adult guests to join in and share fun facts and knowledge about our local waterway while fishing off the new pier.

Jonathan Hardin, Interim CEO of Columbia Power and Water Systems, emphasizes that “Columbia Power & Water Systems is about serving the community and aMuse’um is a community museum. We are happy to be a part of an exhibit that serves the most important part, the future of our community, children. Our team is ecstatic to see children having fun while learning about the Duck River and how crucial a resource it is to our community.”

“I love that the museum creates opportunities for children to experience real world examples in a space that is accessible, fun, and educational. Guests can now experience exciting updates such as the reopened slide and new additions like our sensory cove. aMuse’um is ready for visitors to experience one of the tangible traits that makes Columbia so unique. We hope everyone visits to see the exhibit's latest updates and learns something new about our magnificent Duck River. We extend a special thanks to our partners: CPWS, Seth Howell of Howell Building Group, Rusty Cockrell, our content creator, Bryson Leach of Good Sign Design Co. and our aMuse’um staff and board members for their contributions to making this update possible,” Paloma Rodriguez, aMuse’um Board Member.

While the exhibit allows children and families to learn more about the Duck River, Columbia Power & Water Systems are collaborating with The Maury County Public Library to host presentations that focus on conservation and the components important to protecting our waterways. Mark your calendars for October 17th at 6 pm and be sure to attend this important event. For more information about the event, visit https://mcpltn.org.
